We are a ministry that focuses on deep, exegetical feeding from the Word of God (i.e. in-depth Bible study!)
This year we are meeting at CARMEL BAPTIST CHURCH on Pineville-Matthews Road in Matthews, NC (google www.carmelbaptist.org)
We meet Monday evenings from 7-9 p.m. all through the School Year, and we are studying the book of Luke through Lent (through Feb of 2011)
NEXT VISITOR NITE: MONDAY DECEMBER 13th!!!
The main themes of the book of Luke we are considering are:
A-AUTHORITY...the authority of Christ as revealed over nature, disease, death, and over life & death, as the Savior of the world.
B- BIG PICTURE of the character of Christ, which is to say--both his humanity, & his divinity
C-The CERTAINTY of the Gospel--we can "know that we know" (See chapter 1:1-4)
D-DIVINE Economy : God's economy (so to speak) is UPSIDE-DOWN in its emphasis on grace & the unlikely or unlovely
E- EVERY STEP of the call to discipleship (as seen in the call modeled to the disciples and then practised by them--sometimes fitfully)

Dr. Alison Littauer
Dr Alison K Littauer is a 2009 graduate of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary (Charlotte) with a doctoral emphasis on church history. She loves to teach and promote knowledge about the "dead guys," (the great saints of the past.) Her graduate degree is from NYU in philosophy & religion and her BA is in Bible & Communications from Wheaton College. She has been teaching Scripture study for more than 40 years, and founded and led two Community Bible Study classes. She has been leading WOW Charlotte for 15 years. Alison is married to Tex Brown & they reside in South Charlotte. She has 3 grown children & 3 grandchildren. Her children live in Davenport Iowa, Boulder CO, & Auckland, N.Z.
