I love this time of year; it’s my favorite, and was even more so during 25 years in CT, where the weather cooperated to produce the “perfect winter setting” for the Holidays.
So even if “the setting” is missing, in terms of snow and cold winter mornings here, the SPIRIT is alive & producing “the spirit of thanksgiving, the fruit of our lips giving praise to His name.” (Heb 13)
Women of the WORD is deep in a study of the Gospel of JOHN, and it has been amazing thus far, even in chapters 1-5. We are seeing, clearly drawn, a spectacular “unveiling” of the Deity of Christ, in
His earthly life and ministry, and witnessing His heart for the lowly, the outcast, the indigent. At the same time, He is the Incarnate WORD, ONE with the Father, Divine Healer, Bridegroom.
The class will open to Visitors on Jan 11, 2016 and please join us! Monday evenings at Carmel Baptist from 7-9:00 p.m. This winter Term we will study John chapters 6-14.
May God be glorified in this ADVENT Season in His Body, the Church.
The spirit of Advent is to Look! Look! for His appearing, and that is what we want to do, in everything.

"All my fresh Springs shall be in thee...", a Psalm of David
The verse above helps me address the tendency of summer to 'slide, relax, give in' to the aura of indolence in the physical sphere-- the heat (in Charlotte, especially!) makes it more difficult to do everything, and we let our spiritual routine slide as well. Let's claim with David that our 'fresh springs' are in Him! His Word alone provides the needed challenge, comfort, direction for 'hot' or stressful--days...
I pray your times with Him are 'green pastures beside still waters..'
Our Summer Reading List will help with this!
Also, begin a Journey through the book of John in advance of our life-changing trek through that Gospel this fall. We re-convene Sept 14, & registration begins on the Carmel website in August.
We will study John chapters 1-5 this Fall.
God bless you, this summer Season

WOW RESUMES 1/12/15
Romans Ends in February, A W Tozer begins, March-May
HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2015
From a “Great Dead Guy” for a New Year of Grace, to each one of us :
I hope it may be the happiest year of your life, as I think each succeeding year of everyone’s life ought to be, for it is certain that there really is~ laid up and ready-to-hand, (for those who will just lay hands upon it)
ENOUGH of God for Everyone, & ENOUGH forever !! In fact, I am quite sure that the central mistake of all lives that are mistaken is to not take this simple fact for granted, and trust that it continues, “though I believe it not: ”
GOD IS
GOD REIGNS
A SOVEREIGN GOD is over all…
I think I can trace every scrap of sorrow in my life to simple unbelief in this!
Because how could I be anything but joyful, if I knew the past is forgiven, the present furnished with power, and the future~ bright with hope ! yea, though I stagger at the promise through unbelief, it stands firm and clear, with its
peaks of pearl cleaving Eternity, and the base secured unfathomably in the ROCK who is OUR GOD!!
